Composite veneers

composite veneers

Composite resin restorations are a non-invasive treatment that can improve aesthetics as a cost-effective option in the form of veneers and to restore teeth affected by decay or other defects with bonded restorations. Composite resin materials have developed significantly over the last few years and are the go-to restorative option for many indications.

Whilst the optical and physical properties of composites have been regarded as  limited, these resin materials have developed significantly over the last few years and are a highly aesthetic and durable solution for a wide range of restorative applications.

Composite restorations are technique-sensitive and for them to be successful in the long term, they depend on adhesion, unlike more conventional restorations. To achieve this, we use a rubber dam to isolate the teeth from oral contaminants for all cases. Although it may feel unfamiliar, or even cumbersome at first, fitting a rubber dam is the only way to maximise bonding and long-term treatment success with adhesive dentistry.

Long story short, if you’re having composite restorations and rubber dam isn’t being used…it’s not being done right.
